Our Mission

Annie Purl PTA exists to support every child at Annie Purl Elementary by strengthening the partnership between families, educators, and the wider Georgetown community. We advocate for our students, enrich their educational experience, and help create a school environment where every child can thrive.

Who We Are

Annie Purl Elementary PTA (Local Unit #4279) is a volunteer-led, nonprofit organization serving the students, families, and staff of Annie Purl Elementary School — the first public elementary school in Georgetown, Texas, established in 1895.

We are parents, caregivers, teachers, and community members who believe that when families and schools work together, children succeed. Our PTA has been an active part of the Annie Purl community since November 7, 1986.

What We Do

Our PTA funds and organizes programs and events throughout the school year that directly benefit students and staff, including:

• Family engagement events that bring the Purl community together on and off campus

• Teacher and classroom support, including grants for supplies and special projects

• Student enrichment programs that go beyond the standard curriculum

• Campus beautification and improvement initiatives

• Fundraising efforts that keep our programs running year after year

All funds raised by Annie Purl PTA go directly back to our students and school community.

Our Affiliation

Annie Purl Elementary PTA is a chartered local unit of PTA Texas Congress (Texas PTA) and National PTA — the oldest and largest child advocacy organization in the United States.

As a member of Texas PTA, we are guided by the PTA's mission to make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. Our membership in Texas PTA connects us to a statewide network of advocates, resources, and training that makes our local PTA stronger.
